The Amagansett Fire Department held a drill on Thursday March 29, 2018. The department staged a motor vehicle accident on Napeague Meadow Rd for the volunteers. Fire police closed the road while the firefighters extricated victims for the EMS personnel to treat. The Amagansett Fire Department has started a Junior Firefighter program. Nearly a dozen kids between the ages of 10 and 17 have signed up to start learning about the fire department. Their first training was last night, February 27, at the fire house.
